CURRENT HOME PAGE
A heuristic evaluation was performed on the website to determine a consistent, atheistically pleasing design, keeping in mind that the organization wanted a simple, straightforward website. As I performed the evaluation, I realized branding fonts and colors needed an update for better visibility and consistency.

Condensed navigation bar to create more room and space.
Lightening the background for better visibility of text.
Creating consistent color scheme and font families.
STYLE GUIDE
The website style guide was updated for the following reasons::
-
Consistent visual identity with fonts, colors, and button sizes
-
Meeting contrasting colors accessibility standards

HOME PAGE REDESIGN
To meet the organization's goals of providing details on programs held by HART and upcoming events, the following significant design changes were made:
-
A well-structured easy-to-read calendar
-
Quick overview and summary of what HART is about, as well as a section highlighting the programs offered by HART under "What We Do"
.png)
Quick access to an events calendar for users visiting to find out details on upcoming events.
Giving users a highlight on the homepage of the top programs Rancho HART offers allows them to better understand what the organization does.
Quick access to how volunteers could get involved.
Improving the initial visual appeal by presenting the name of the organization without the logo.
A simplified and easy to read navigation bar with updated font and color.
CONCLUSION
These initial suggestions were provided to the Rancho Cordova HART stakeholders, who favored the design for highlighting events and programs. Rancho Cordova HART has implemented some of the recommended changes and will continue to implement changes as they test small changes with their users.
I enjoyed working on this project in the hopes of helping to increase event attendance and volunteer interest. The stakeholders wanted to have a single-page home screen instead of a long scroll. I hope to get a new design for the stakeholders that will better meet their needs!
